MOUNTAIN LION HUNTS

Lion hunting is a physically challenging and exhilarating experience.    It is not for the timid or for any hunter unwilling or unable to endure tough conditions and hard effort to bag a trophy animal.  Over the years we have had numerous "experiences" that result in some great campfire and dinner-time stories.  These vividly recalled encounters with one of North America's most powerful predators only supplement what will be an experience of your own that you will never forget.  Contact us today for information on our high quality lion hunts.

In the recent  years our clients have taken the Colorado Outfitters Association "Best of Species" (click) top awards for 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2006..  We have well over 20 well trained and hunted hounds on site....how's that for depth of pack!

2001-2002 Season
Nov.28, 01--Ed Eckes from Northbend, OR, returns for his annual elk and lion hunt. As usual, Ed was successful on both hunts.    Dec.1, 2001-- Blake Walters took this lion with us on 12/01/01. On the same day, Brian Williams took what should be the new Colorado state record. Brian's lion will exceed score of the 100 year old record established by Teddy Roosevelt with a Meeker, CO lion.    Mid-Dec,01--John Renner of Chicago,IL, took his CO lion with us in mid-Dec.    Jan.1,02--Dan Sehr's Pope and Young and Boone and Crocket lion scored 14 13/16 for SCI. The lion was taken on New Year's Day.    Jan. 3, 02-- Tim Maxwell took his great Pope and Young lion with us on Jan. 3, 2002.    Jan. 11, 02--Colin Gardner and crew with his 14 6/16 Colorado tom cat.    Jan. 17, 02 - Mountain lion treed in New Mexico   

 

Prior Years
March 2, 2001 - "Mountain lion hunting is in full swing and we have managed to take seventeen (17) big cats thus far this season, through March 2, 2001.  December 10 through January 9 usually offers optimum lion hunting but lack of snow coupled with warmer temperatures hindered the results during the '99-'00 season during this period.  However, we did take a number of trophy sized cats, a couple of which are now pictured below.  This year has been phenomenal for lion hunting, as evidenced by our success rate thus far."  Dick Ray - Lobo Outfitters.

Client Ed Eckes and Lobo Outfitters guide and co-owner Mike Ray with Ed's beautiful 15 7/16 lion.         Paul Harvey traveled from Rhode Island to hunt with Lobo Outfitters and take this magnificent lion in 1998. THis lion tied for #1 in the Colorado Outfitter's Assn. "Best of Species" competition.         Lobo client Doug Rath scored #3 in the 2000 Colorado Outfitters Assn. "Best of Species" competition.        Client Mike Hocker and guides with his #1 Colorado cougar for 1999.        Denny Barber and Lobo Outfitters guide and co-owner Mike Ray with Denny's #1 Colorado cougar for 1998.        Client Randy Bond scored #3 in the Colorado Outfitters Assn. "Best of Species" competition for 1999.
